Lyme’s Disease

Veterans of Lyme’s Disease struggle with mood swings, depression, extreme exhaustion, unexpected collapse… and chronic lack of money from being unable to handle a regular job. Hats off to “JB,” who spent hours writing a report on remedies she has tried and found to be helpful. Scroll down to read her report in full. This is how she ends her email:

I know first hand what a challenge it can be to “live with lymes” and find “life after lymes”, so I’m happy and humbled to be of service in any way I can. I hope this is helpful for you and your client. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any clarification and feel free to forward this writing to your client. I’m happy to make myself available as a support and encouragement to her to keep up and never lose hope.

Dr Mercola’s Sept 2013 newsletter article on Lyme’s disease – including treatment and prevention ideas.

The Hippocrates Health Institute
offers a treatment for Lyme’s Disease that has a track record for impressive results: Colloidal Silver, administered intravenously.

  • One patient reports that she was given 5 doses of Colloidal Silver, intravenously, which drastically reduced her symptoms; she then followed up at home with rectal implants of Colloidal Silver over a period of 3 months. All her symptoms cleared.
  • Her daughter (with 8 years’ of weakness, body tingling, bone pain, anger/foul language, etc. etc.) underwent a similar course of treatments with the same good results. After a year, a few symptoms returned, so she did a repeat of Colloidal Silver. Since then she has been completely symptom-free and is currently an honours student at her college.

Colloidal Silver is anti-viral and anti-bacterial. Some brands of colloidal silver on the market are not very good quality. Apparently Sovereign Silver is a superior brand (used and recommended by Chloe Wordsworth). Phone: 1-888-328-8840 (Miami)

JB’s remedies

Before I begin, just a heads up, this is very lengthy because there’s a lot of information to share :). Take your time taking it all in. Let me know if you have any questions or need clarification.

******************
In summary, here are the links to the remedies and treatments that have been successful for me and/or that I know have been highly succcessful for others, as well as the ones I am currently exploring:

This has been the most important and successful treatment for me so far. It was recommended by a  local herablist in my city who has been practicing herbalism and iridology for years and years. She has been treating people for lymes with LDM-100 successfully for almost 30 yrs. I still take the LDM-100 daily for maintenance. I didn’t take it for my lyme disease until I was complete with the traditional antibiotic treatment via my holistic MD’s advice. What’s important to understand about this herbal medicine is the rash that often comes with this herbal treatment. I did get the rash and about 90% of the people who have used this on my advice have also gotten the rash. It really depends on how much toxicity the body needs to release. Both my husband and my son have used it without even a hint of a rash. My husband takes it daily as a preventative. My son takes it at the first sign of any flu type illness and it nips it in the bud within 3 days. As I said, neither of them have ever gotten a rash. Not true for me or for most, however. The website says there is a rash-free formula now. I don’t have any experience with that.

It’s important to understand that the rash is a detox rash and not really an allergic reaction. It can be scary, however, when the rash appears and bring up a lot of fear that you are having a severe allergic reaction. Of course you are always your own best judge and if you have any anaphylatic type symptoms you should always seek appropriate medical attention. My herbalist~iridologist has shared with me that in all the years she’s treated her clients with LDM, none of them have had an allergic reaction but nearly all have had the detox rash.

I can share my own rash story: I was literally covered in a rash from head to toe – I seriously looked like a leopard! It was very scary to look at me and it was a little itchy and uncomfortable, but it did no harm. I used natural antihistamines for the discomfort and basically stayed at home until the rash started to fade from my face and I could go out with my body covered and not freak anyone out! The rash peaked at about 3 days and lasted 7-10 days, disappearing in the sequential order from the areas as it first appeared on my body. I stopped taking it for 2 weeks after I was through with the rash. and then I restarted it again and have been on it daily as maintenance ever since with a short 1-2 week break once or twice a year.

I also have a history of a MRSA infection from around 7 yrs ago and LDM is also recommended for MRSA, so my body had a lot to clear at a cellular level once I started taking it.

The information says once you get the rash you won’t get it again and I can attest to that, as does my herbalist with the hundreds of patients she’s treated with it. I personally feel a very strong sacred energy around the LDM-100 and the story of how it came to be known to us through the Native Americans use of it during the flu epidemic affirms that for me.
2) Lauricidin ~ (a Monolaurin derived from the extraction of the lauric acid found in pure coconut oil)  http://lauricidin.com/. This website is rather limited so you may want to google it and check out some of the other links for more information.

This was recommended to me by my holistic MD and also her NP. The NP has chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia and she says it’s been her personal godsend and takes it every day. She also gives it to her young children who have a lot of allergies as a preventative with very positive success. I tend to have a herx effect very quickly with this so I have not taken it for long periods of time and when I do I can only take 3-6 tablets at a time. I also found out recently through my NAET desensitization program that I have some allergy and sensitivity to coconut oil, so I suspect that’s why I wasn’t as able to take this long-term with as much success as the LDM-100. But I have passed it on to others for whom it’s been very, very helpful. It is important to muscle-check for the number of tablets to take to avoid a herx and healing crisis.
3) Aura Patches (http://www.aurapatches.com/)
They just came out with a new one called Mycoplasma that is specific for lymes disease. My system muscle checks very high for these as a remedy. I have taken them as consistently as I can afford to financially and for as long as my system muscle checks is optimal for me. You have to be a licensed doctor or therapist in order to buy directly from them; thus I get mine through my practitioner who is a “doctor” as a PhD as well as an energetic and vibrational healing practitioner. We use muscle checking as our indicator.
4) Dr. Tony Smith (http://www.lymestop.com/)
This is what I’m most excited about exploring right now for myself. I have no personal anecdotes with Dr. Smith and his lymestop program – only my strong intuition and muscle checking which gives both my energy practitioner and myself “off the charts” high response in muscle checking as a positive remedy for me.
5) Homeopathic protocol (recommended by a chiropractor who has found this protocol to be the only successful treatment for his lyme disease after many years of living with lyme and trying everything alternative and holistic that he’s been aware of. I have not yet had the opportunity to try this.

This is his recommendation and suggestions to me based on his personal experience:

The protocol they recommend is to do their comprehensive detox kit prior to the lymes treatment, but I find most people can do the detox kit concurrently with the lymes kit IFthey have previously done much detox work. They will probably not sell direct, so you may need your practitioner to order for you. Have your practitioner keep an eye on you as the die off can create symptoms that might need attention.

I have found this energetic desensitization treatment program to be a very helpful adjunct in treating my system for the ripple effects of allergies and sensitivities that come through the lymes disease AND we have treated me, ie desensitized me, for the Borrelia and lymes disease and anything related to it when it shows up as a flare in my system.
*********************
Ok, I think that’s all I have for remedies. It feels like it might be helpful for me to briefly share my story with lymes. Although I got very sick with the lyme tick bite, I’m very aware that I have been very fortunate in that the residual effects I’m left with are minor in comparison to so many. And yet, I’m also very aware that my body is still compromised in ways it never was before and I still “go down for the count” with a lymes flare of full-on body aches, major brain fog, and exhaustion under chronic stress and/or anything that triggers my immune system.

I was bit by a lymes tick 3 yrs ago this past spring. Fortunately, we caught it right away – within a day or two of the bite. The bulls eye rash was already huge – I had a ring within a ring. It was very obvious and I know that was a blessing for me. I could see it was still under the skin – or at least its head was – but too far in by then for me to remove with any kind of instrument or hand technique so I used a drawing salve called PRID to draw out whatever was there. That salve does not require a dr’s Rx but you have to ask the pharmacist for it. I don’t know why it’s not typically put out on the counter. I keep this salve on hand as part of my everyday first aid kit as it is a remarkable medicine for spider bites, bee stings, tick, boils, etc – it’s highly effective for almost anything that needs to be drawn out of the skin.

I called my doctor and she informed me that if we waited to do blood work, which is often inconclusive anyway, we would miss the opportunity to do early intervention with antibiotics, so we didn’t do blood work and she put me on a 2 wk course of Doxycycline immediately. Even while on the antibiotic I experienced getting very ill as the lymes moved throughout my entire body systemically. Oddly it hit my body in sections at a time beginning on the left side from the waist down, then from the waist up to my shoulders on the left side, then over to the right side from the waist down, then waist up to my shoulders, and then finally it went to my brain.  I lost a lot of my cognitive function when it hit my brain and wondered if I would ever “return”. Thankfully, I did, although my memory is not what it used to be. My doctor put me on another 2 weeks of the Doxycycline. I now know that she probably should’ve kept me on it for 3 months and maybe I would have even fewer residual effects, but we’ll never know. I’m just grateful to have recovered as fully as I have.

Believe it or not, I got bit by a second lymes tick almost one year later although I didn’t really feel sick from it this time. I did call my doctor and go back on the Doxycycline for another 2 weeks or so. Interestingly, when I got sick with MRSA years ago, I found out I’m allergic to Vancomycin, which is the heavy-hitter for MRSA. So they cultured my MRSA and found that Doxycycline would treat it. So I’ve also been on and off the Doxycycline several times over the past 3 yrs for a recurring staph folliculitis infection that I’m prone to getting on my face from stress. It’s also fascinating to note that the second lymes tick bite was on the same leg as the firsts and almost in the same position except the first one was on the outside of my thigh (about 4-6 in above the knee) and the second one on the inner thigh. They were almost parallel to each other in location, just the outer and then the inner! From a shamanic perspective (which I am trained in), I find the symbolism of all of this and the “medicine of the tick” so fascinating! I have meditated long and deep on all of this and have taken the “messages and wisdom of the tick’s medicine” to heart. I do believe that this willingness for me to have this kind of consciousness around this “dis-ease” has been very helpful in supporting me to have a higher quality of life in spite of it.

Blessings,

JB
